Burlco GOP sets an example

LTE: Burlco GOP sets an example

6:10 p.m. EDT August 8, 2014

I am no fan of President Barack Obama, but as a lifelong Republican I also find myself increasingly frustrated with the direction of our Republican Party nationally. Too often the party leadership comes off as angry, intolerant and lacking in substantive ideas.

Frankly, I wish our party leaders nationally would take a page out of the book of our elected Republican leadership here in Burlington County.

Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio, Freeholder Joe Howarth and Freeholder Joe Donnelly own a record of cutting county property taxes and reducing spending that nobody in the state can match.

They’ve reduced the size and cost of government — spending fewer dollars per person than any other county in the state — while still providing key services like an award-winning parks system, programs for seniors and veterans, and arguably the finest county college in New Jersey.

Garganio and Howarth are up for re-election this year, and I am urging all of my friends and family in the county, regardless of their party affiliation, to vote for two elected officials who put taxpayers first and get things done.
